The City of Lansing's decision to privatize the Kenneth A. Hope Soccer Complex continues to receive media attention (from the City Pulse, the Lansing State Journal, WLNS, and the blog Michigan Liberal). Some misinformation is being spread, sometimes intentionally and sometimes accidentally. So I would like to clarify what I consider to be a misstatement -- actually, an overstatement -- of the City's role in the future of the facility:

Also, the Ingham County Parks Commission has not recommended ending the County's relationship with Hope Soccer Complex. The commission's budget subcommittee made that recommendation. It was not voted upon by the full Parks Commission. And the issue was never presented to any committee of the Ingham County Board of Commissioners, let alone the full Board.
